Dr Subash Balakrishnan is an Australian-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery and trauma care. His expertise covers complex shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist conditions, as well as general fracture management.
Dr Balakrishnan completed his MBBS and Orthopaedic training in India, working as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon before relocating to Australia in 2011.
He joined the
Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Training Program in Queensland, rotating through major hospitals including QEII Jubilee, The Prince Charles, Princess Alexandra, Greenslopes Private and Mackay Base Hospital.
He was awarded the
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Orthopaedics and completed three AOA-accredited fellowships:
- Upper Limb Surgery – Epworth Hospitals, Melbourne
- Paediatric Orthopaedic & Neuromuscular Fellowship – Westmead Hospital, Sydney
- Complex Trauma Fellowship – Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane (2 years)
In addition to his metropolitan work, he has served regional communities as a Senior Medical Officer, providing comprehensive orthopaedic and trauma care.
